Even though Yakiudon isn't fancy Japanese food, with a lot of vegetables and meat, it is still a very good thing for you to eat.

About the Flavouring Sauce My sauce is quite simple. It is a mixture of soy sauce, sake, mirin and sesame oil. Japanese beef stir-fried udon step by step

  1. Wash the shimeji mushroom and cut / separate them.
  2. Boil the udon for around 1 minute till soft.
  3. Fry the mushrooms for a while before putting in the beef slices as mushrooms take longer to cook.
  4. Add in the udon.
  5. Add in Japanese beef sauce + 1-2 teaspoons of brown sugar and stir.
  6. Add in sesame oil, stir and serve!.

Heat a dash of oil in a hot frying pan or wok, stir fry beef strips until browned, set aside. Add a little more oil to the frying pan and stir fry the mushrooms, capsicum, beans and spring onions until crisp and tender. Cook udon noodles according to the directions on the pack. It's spicy and savory with a great mix of textures – the suppleness of the udon, the chew of the beef, and the crunch of properly cooked vegetables – that just explode in your mouth.
